Taylor Swift is pretty hot stuff at the moment. With being named TIME’s Person of the Year for 2023, an award she shares with Adolf Hitler and former President Donald Trump, Tay-tay has been in the news just about every day for the past twelve months.

This year she helped prop up a weak American economy, reportedly funneling millions of dollars into the local economies of every stop on her Eras tour, and become a bonafide billionaire in the process. Taylor was clearly the front-runner for America's most influential person this year. However, she also has the stats for another big award, America's biggest emitter of CO2.

Though magazine honors and concert earnings aren’t all she accomplished this year. No, Taylor, who has notoriously and very publicly talked about her many failed relationships over the years has nabbed herself a man who hopefully inspires some well-ending pop romance ballads.

Taylor and Travis Kelce (who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs) went public with their relationship a few months ago, and have been having the time of their lives while triggering millions of Americans who still think high school was the best time of theirs.

So what is the cost of love for a woman who clearly has it all? Well, for her, not much, but for the rest of us, it might just spell the end of civilization.

According to the taylorswiftets Instagram account, which tracks all of Swift’s flights, the pop star spent $9,434 in fuel costs to see Travis and his Chiefs lose this past weekend and emitted a whopping 18 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere in the process.

For some perspective, the average American household emits, on average, 14,000 pounds of CO2 in a calendar year, that’s roughly 7 tons, according to the EPA

Now, we aren’t here to tell Taylor what to do in her free time, but if she’s going to risk the future of human existence to see her boyfriend play football, they better win some games or it will all be for nothing.
