Bad news for anxious happy hour hounds — it is possible to get fired for going too hard at your company Christmas party, a lesson one party animal recently discovered the hard way.
While it’s unclear what, exactly prompted Molly — a.k.a. @m21lly — to get sacked from her position, it must have been bad, the TikToker sharing screengrabs of a scathing letter from her employer after the fateful seasonal soiree.
“Dear Molly, It is with regret that I must confirm the outcome of my investigation into the events that took place at the staff Christmas party on Saturday evening,” the note began, adding that her behavior, which (much like Molly) was blacked out, “risked putting the reputation of the nursery into disrepute.
“This amounts to gross misconduct,” the letter continued. “As you are still on your probationary period, I had no option but to terminate your contract of employment with immediate effect.”
While she did nab severance well into January, we can only hope that she learned a lesson about going too hard at work functions — sometimes you gotta save the shots for the club.
