Contrary to popular misconception, UFO sightings aren't limited to tin-foil hat wearers, Dale Gribble, or the entire state of New Jersey. Celebrities have also claimed to have experienced close encounters with the third kind, witnessing UFOs — or as they're now called, UAPs — hurdling through the sky.
From Elvis Presley to late President Jimmy Carter, here are 10 celebrities and notable public figures who claim to have seen or been abducted by UFOs.

1. Keith Richards
Courtesy of DesertTrip2016-56Blame it on his love of substances or on our alien overlords, but The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards claimed to have experienced his fair share of UFO sightings. "I've seen a few, but nothing that any of the ministries would believe," he explained in the late ‘60s, per BBC News. “I believe they exist - plenty of people have seen them. They are [busy] with a lot of things, like the dawn of man, for example. It's not just a matter of people spotting a flying saucer... I'm not an expert. I'm still trying to understand what's going on." -
2. Robbie Williams

Then the song stops playing and it disappears. But then we put Arizona on again and the ball turned back up. It happened four times. After that a massive electrical storm started and these two big massive balls of light started dancing in the sky. It was like a whole light show for about an hour." -
3. Fran Drescher
Courtesy of Gage Skidmore'The Nanny' icon once claimed that both she and her former husband, Peter Marc Jacobson, both had respective run-ins with our soon-to-be alien overlords during their youth. “It’s funny because Peter and I both saw [aliens] before we knew each other, doing the same thing, driving on the road with our dads,” she explained. “We were both in junior high. A few years later, we met, and we realized that we had the same experience. I think that, somehow, we were programmed to meet. We both have this scar. It’s the exact same scar on the exact same spot.” -
4. Kacey Musgraves
Courtesy of Andy Witchger“I noticed something hovering above the corner of the hotel,” Musgraves recalled of a UFO sighting she experienced while attending a pal’s wedding in Mexico. “In the night sky, it kind of looked like the underbelly of a bird. You couldn’t really see what it was. You know how around the outside edge of a hotel they sometimes have floodlights that point up into the sky? Whatever it was, it was being shined on by those.”After conferring with her friends about the object floating above them, the already mysterious UAP somehow grew even weirder. “I was very confused by it, so I said, ‘Y’all, what’s that?’ We all watched it for a minute, and then it changed shape into an X-pattern, like a windmill shape. It was so weird,” she continued. “Then it started glowing and doing things that nothing normal would do. It was crazy.” -
5. Goldie Hawn

They were pointing at me, pointing at me in the car as if they were discussing me like I was a subject. And they were droning,” the actress explained of her extraterrestrial experience. “I didn’t know if it was real or not real. And finally, I burst out of it. It was like bursting out of a forcefield. And of course, I go back to all the kids, and I went, ‘Oh, my God. I think I made contact with outer space.’” -
6. Lemmy Kilmister

We don't even have aircraft that do that now, never mind then. So that was pretty eye-opening for me.” -
7. Post Malone

8. Elvis Presley

Though the star purportedly had visions of the future he attributed to ETs throughout his youth, as BBC News reported, his first encounter may have been during his first moments on Earth. “His father told us he'd gone out to have a cigarette at 2 a.m. during the delivery, and when he looked up into the skies above their little shack, he saw the strangest blue light,” Gellar recalled. “He knew right then and there that something special was happening." -
9. Former President Jimmy Carter ... sort of
Image in Public Domain.“I saw an unidentified flying object. I've never believed that it came from Mars,” the late President told GQ back in 2005. “I was in charge of fifty-six Lions Clubs in southwest Georgia back in the late '60s. And all of a sudden, one of the men looked up and said, ‘Look, over in the west!’ And there was a bright light in the sky. We all saw it. And then the light, it got closer and closer to us. And then it stopped, I don't know how far away, but it stopped beyond the pine trees. And all of a sudden it changed color to blue, and then it changed to red, then back to white.”Though the group spent some time “trying to figure out what in the world it could be,” the object sped away just as quickly as it arrived. “Then it receded into the distance,” the ex-POTUS continued. “I had a tape recorder—because as I met with members of Lions Clubs, I would dictate their names on the tapes so I could remember them—and I dictated my observations. And when I got home, I wrote them down. So that's an accurate description of what I saw. It was a flying object that was unidentified. But I have never thought that it was from outer space.” -
10. Nick Jonas
Courtesy of MTV“When I was 14, maybe, I was in my backyard playing basketball with some friends, and I looked up in the sky, and there [were] three flying saucers,” the Jonas Brothers alum recalled of his almost extraterrestrial encounter. “Everyone was like, ‘It’s a movie set,’ and I was convinced it was real. And I looked it up online and there were three identical sightings in other states. So I’m a firm believer in aliens.”
