For the last decade most vehicle makers believed that the auto industry's future lay with electric vehicles. So while they thought about the future, they turned to the past for design inspiration. Specifically, by remaking their classic old models as EVs.

Jaguar E-Type Zero
Jaguar is in the middle of a rebrand right now. But before undergoing drastic changes, the brand attempted a last-ditch effort to right the ship by creating an electric version of their iconic E-Type.

Nissan IDx
In an attempt to draw things back to its Datsun days, Nissan dropped its 2013 IDx concept. They even made a NISMO version.

Ford F-100 Eluminator
In 2021, Ford created an electric concept of its 1978 F-100 truck using a Mustang Mach-E engine.

BMW Vision Neue Klasse (New Class)
BMW produced its New Class in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Solid yet unremarkable cars, the brand recently proposed new EV versions in sedan and SUV formats.

Hoffman EV DeLorean DMC-12
This DeLorean DMC-12 got the full EV treatment from Hoffman EV, a company that converts old cars into electric vehicles. It makes perfect sense that a DeLorean would get a futuristic version.

Bentley Mulsanne
This 1980s Bentley Mulsanne also became an EV thanks to Hoffman. Possibly a good thing for a notoriously unreliable period in Bentley’s history.

Hyundai Heritage Series Grandeur
To celebrate “the 35th anniversary of our 1986 Hyundai Grandeur flagship sedan,” Hyundai created an electric concept for the “21st century.”
