15 Movie Posters That Really Don’t Fit the Movie
Designing a movie poster isn’t easy. How are you going to condense two hours’ worth of emotion, intrigue and plot into a single image, all without revealing too many details regarding what the film is about?
Despite that difficulty, some people have managed to create some incredible movie posters.
From billing Parasite as a screwball family comedy, to completely misunderstanding C-3PO’s role in Star Wars, these are some of the absolute worst plot-to-poster translations that users on X/Twitter could find.
For some reason, many of these strange posters occur when one country sends its films to another. Take, for example, the poster for the Czech release of Ghostbusters, or the terrifying poster for the movie Ghost, or the version of 12 Years a Slave where Brad Pitt is the most important character in the movie.
However, a majority are just tonal swings and misses. Finally, there are those posters that can really only be described as “weird.”
Still better than whatever Netflix has put out recently!
