I'm not saying all landlords are terrible, just that there is an incredible amount of them who love to cut corners at the expense of the people subsidizing their lifestyles.
This phenomenon of landlords painting over bugs, patching walls with paper plates, and refusing to admit their units have mold problems has become known as the "landlord special."
If you're lucky (or old) enough to own your own home, then maybe you can think back to your younger days as a renter and sympathize the those of us who aren't so lucky (as of yet).
So pour one out for the younger generation who has to put up with entitled people who also control the temperature of their water.
