In the day and age of social media that's more true than ever, but even in the 1990s plenty of people earned their dance with the spotlight.
Here are 10 folks who had 15 minutes of fame in the 1990s, and where they are now.

Nancy Kerrigan
The figure skater became a household name in 1994 when she suffered an attack while competing in the Winter Olympics. Coordinated by rival Tonya Harding’s husband, the incident rocked the figure skating world, but Kerrigan went on to win a silver medal. Since then she’s participated in ice skating troupes and appeared on multiple television shows. She most famously participated in Dancing With the Stars in 2017.

Soon-Yi Previn
How can anybody forget when Woody Allen started dating his stepdaughter?
In 1978, Mia Farrow and her husband André Previn adopted Soon-Yi Previn, originally a South Korean orphan, who eventually became involved in a relationship with Farrow’s ex-partner, Woody Allen, at just 21 years of age. Although Farrow claims Allen never acted as Previn’s father figure, the pair sport a 35 year age gap. Previn and Allen are still married to this day and have two adopted children together. Previn and Farrow are estranged.5
Vanilla Ice
From 1990 to 1992 Vanilla Ice enjoyed rapid mainstream success culminating in his infamous song "Ice Ice Baby." After touring, Ice struggled with substance abuse issues and couldn’t replicate his initial success. He still performs sporadically and makes occasional television appearances.

Christian Brando
Marlon Brando’s first child made headlines when he tragically shot and killed his half-sister’s boyfriend Dag Drollet in 1990. Brando served his sentence from 1991 to 1996. He was implicated as an accomplice but not convicted for a different murder in 2001 and pleaded no contest to spousal abuse in 2005. He died of pneumonia in 2008.

Monica Lewinsky
In what was the biggest scandal of the 1990s, then President Bill Clinton DID have sexual relations with that woman, Monica Lewinsky. Remaining in the public eye through interviews and various appearances, Monica became an advocate against cyberbullying and started a production company.

Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes
Lopes performed as part of the R&B girl group TLC and won four grammys as the group’s creative director. However, “Left Eye” made headlines by herself when she lit her boyfriend and former football player Andre Rison’s shoes on fire. She was charged with arson and tragically died in a 2002 car accident.

Daniel Ducruet
Working as her body guard, Ducruet began a controversial relationship with Monaco’s Princess Stéphanie. Despite the recent birth of his child to another woman, Ducruet fathered two more children with Princess Stéphanie and eventually earned the blessing of her father to marry. However, an affair with an adult model ended all of that. Now, Ducruet has another wife, another child, and owns a nightclub.
