In the '80s people thought we'd have flying cars, teleportation, and personal robots by 2024, but the reality is much more depressing than the dreams of generations past. 

Those of us lucky enough to live in the "future" collectively agree that things could be much, much better.

Now we aren't complaining about everything. We love food delivery apps, streaming services and smartphones, but we could do without all the scammers and private interest groups trying to control nearly every fascet of our personal lives. 

So if you also hope of a better future, here are some examples that we still have some work to do to get there.
