20 Folks Who Flew Too Close To The Sun
Without ambitious people, there would be no progress. But generational innovators are seen through a lens full of survivor's bias, and plenty of people with big ideas have bitten off more than they can chew. The ancient Greek myth of Daedalus and Icarus exists for a reason; if you fly too close to the Sun, you're going to get burned.
One such person was Lithuanian man Evaldas Rimasauskas, who imitated contractors to bill massive companies like Google and Facebook for years. He made millions of dollars with his scheme, and had he stopped there, he could have gotten away with it. Eventually, however, authorities caught on to his methods, and he was arrested. He almost came up with the world's greatest free money hack!
See a photo of him and others who flew too close to the Sun in this collection of people facing the consequences of their own actions.
