Experience the assassination that feels like an action film.
With the fall of the Czechoslovakia to Germany in 1939, several Czech soldiers lived in exile in Britain. Two of the men, cousins Jozef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš, were chosen to carry out Operation Anthropoid: the assassination of acting governor of Prague, Reinhard Heydrich.
The cousins trained in England, were dropped behind enemy lines, and prepared with the underground Czech resistance. They mapped the governors daily commute on bicycles, and then on May 27th, 1942, made the fateful move on Heydrich. Gabčík fired his Sten submachine gun, which jammed. Kubiš then threw a grenade, which eventually killed both Heydrich and his driver.
The success of the operation shocked the German command and was a major victory for the Allies, Czechs living under oppression, and cousins everywhere.
