If you've been following the buildup to the Olympics at all, then you'll know Sha'Carri Richardson has been dominating the track and field qualifiers for the United States. Four years ago, however, we never got the chance to see if she could after she was barred from participating for a failed drug test. 

But while Richardson is finally competing on the stage she deserves four years later, so is a convicted criminal volleyball player. Dutch Olympian Steven van de Velde was convicted of sexual crimes against a child just eight years ago but has faced no such difficulties participating in the Olympics.
