22 Interesting Pics With Even Better Back Stories
Like a painting, a good photograph can tell a story without words. That said, we're not all professional photographers and even the coolest-looking photos can benefit from a little context or backstory. On the massive r/pics subreddit, there is an entire section dedicated to photos like this. These cool pics might be pretty neat on their own, but they're even better with the backstory.
Perhaps the most striking photo in this gallery is a self-portrait, posted to the subreddit by the photographer's daughter. It shows the mother's side and head, completely bald save for one long hair. Medical bandaids are also visible, and it is clear that the photographer has been through it. However the caption, "Mom’s last hair. Self Portrait. Four months of chemo remaining for this incredible woman," really hits home. This is someone who loves and is loved, and through the photo, we see she still has a passion for life. But even though she has been through so much already, she's still not done. The backstory makes her image even more emotional, and more somber.
