The United States decided to pull out of Vietnam in January of 1973. The decision brought home the last of the 3 million soldiers who served over the course of the war and finally put the worst of the Cold War in the rear view mirror.
The best of the '70s were on their way and American citizens grabbed the chance to have fun with both hands.
