All through the 1980s, New York kept punk alive and thriving.
The 1970s is thought of as the golden age of punk, but during the 1980s the scene was still going strong. With Black Flag and the Misfits playing venues like CBGB’s, Max’s Kansas City, and the Mudd Club, downtown NYC was a haven for the people who didn’t connect with post-punk and New Wave.
