Life in 1917 was life in a world at war.
In June of that year, President Woodrow Wilson officially declared war on Germany, throwing the United States into the middle of what was already the "war to end all wars."
But humanity persists, and despite dire situations, people around the globe made sure to get on with their every day lives.
