Most men lose their hair, it’s just a part of life. Still, some guys choose to fight back, and there are a few different methods. Some guys shave the whole thing as soon as they notice thinning, others grow out their thin wisps of hair and rearrange it like a weird bird nest, and now some people can afford to go to Turkey and have them reupholster the entire skull.

But the oldest method is a wig or toupee. It’s not as common these days, because it always looks terrible, and hilarious. But back in the day, it was the only way around looking like an adult version of Caillou. There are a ton of great vintage photos and ads showing off wigs and toupees that most of the time look like a small animal died atop a man’s crown and no one bothered to remove it.
