Highway traffic signs are meant to quickly let you know how to stay safe and keep others alive while operating a giant metal death machine at blinding speeds. 

The classic messages are “Slow Down” or “Road Work Ahead.” They keep it simple. Then, sometimes, it seems construction crews and highway patrol offices accidentally hire a comedy writer.

The result is that the signs become the distraction themselves. The very signs meant to limit distraction might cause you to drive off the road because they were just that funny.
