In the Hall of Shame, there’s many different kinds of photos. The blinking, the pit stains, even standing too far from the other person can be painfully awkward. But the king of them all, the one sure-fire sign that someone is uncomfortable and out of their depth, is the hover hand.

It’s honestly a kind, considerate gesture. That guy is just anxious, and doesn’t want to invade someone’s space, get too close and potentially create a straight up bad picture. Unexpectedly, famously nice guy Keanu Reeves is kind of the king of the hoverhand.

But no matter how well intentioned it is, we will laugh. The image of sweaty fingers just an inch above a shoulder or waist is just too funny to ignore.
