One of the best aspects of video games is getting to choose your character or class. A lot of games let you choose between things like swordsman, archer, wizard, gunslinger, etc. And sometimes you can get upgrades, like an awesome tunic, an animal companion, or a massive weapon. All this culminates into an epic avatar ready to brave a long, violent journey across the map.

And these aesthetics don’t come solely from the imaginations of game developers. There are and were awesome warriors and travelers in our own world who serve as the inspiration for all the Street Fighter, Skyrim, and League characters we love to pretend to be.
