As much as we'd like to believe that the mainstream news media is in the business of truth-telling, we all know they're as beholden to clicks and money as the dirtiest YouTuber. The results are headlines that leave some transparency to be desired, and some places will do anything to sensationalize a story or turn it into an inspirational message if they think it will get them clicks. 

This is especially true for stories regarding school lunches, and CNN once highlighted an 8-year-old boy who raised over $4,000 by selling handmade key chains to help his friends erase their lunch debt. Heartwarming, until you remember that this is an 8-year-old helping other 8-year-olds out with school lunch debt. How is that even a thing in this country?
