Dude Can’t Understand How Some Kids Get Free College

It may take a whole lot of smarts to land an acceptance to Harvard University, but it shouldn't take a genius to understand the concept of financial aid.

Though it may take a whole lot of smarts to land an acceptance to Harvard University, it shouldn't take a genius to understand the concept of financial aid.

But even so, one random commenter put this fact to the test, refusing to compute how the Ivy League university comps tuition for students whose families make under $85,000 per year.

The now-viral debacle began last Thursday when software engineer and streamer Madison headed to Twitter to reply to a troll who claimed she bought her prestigious degree. "My Harvard diploma and education were free." she captioned a photo of herself posing on the university's iconic Cambridge campus. "I got it fully funded through financial aid and received extra money from the institution as well. It was such a blessing!"

Despite getting a barrage of comments explaining how, exactly this policy — one highly publicized and explained on Harvard's website — works, he refused to listen.
