"I'm Older Than You Think I Am" 10 People Tell Stories of Times They Were Mistaken for Someone Younger
You can't judge books by their covers, especially when it comes to guessing someone's age. But unfortunately for all of the baby faced adults out there, people do just that, and choose a respect level to treat those adults with as a result. On the r/OlderThanYouThinkIAm subreddit, these people got together and shared stores of times people embarrassingly mistook them for someone younger.
There is a stigma that surrounds teen mothers and pregnancy, but that is supposed to be well gone by the time you hit your late 20s. One 27-year-old mother recalled walking around the supermarket with one of her children while pregnant with another, when she was stopped by an older woman who reprimanded her. "Maybe next time keep a quarter between your knees," the woman said. She then turned her attention to the mother's ringless hand - her wedding ring was on a necklace. "To this day, I wish I would've responded differently and at least told her what an absolute [annoyance] she was," the mother wrote.
A different Filipino pregnant woman was forced to have her pregnancy "confirmed" by a security guard who thought she was a child trying to fake her way into a store. Needless to say, he was quickly told off by his also pregnant boss. See those stories and more in this gallery of people who are older than they look.
