We’ve all seen videos of a rocket launch or a jet taking off, but the engine tests are just as cool to witness.
These gargantuan, flame-throwing engines vary wildly in their designs. There’s the F22 Raptor that fires twin blue flames, the Comet engine which was created in a 3D printer, and the Orion Jettison that fires four columns of fire straight up into the air. There’s even a jet engine that was fitted onto a futuristic-looking car to achieve mind-boggling speeds.
Check out some amazing, dangerous, and fascinating feats of engineering that will be incredibly useful when we have to escape the planet.
