Yesterday was the opening ceremony for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, and the parade featured a number of interesting points, the most notable being the rapper Snoop Dogg carrying the torch. Now don't get me wrong, I love me some D O double-G as much as the next man, but for an event designed to highlight each nation's most incredible athletic talent, shouldn't there be somebody a bit more impactful in that sphere leading the charge? I get that Snoop is a vetted celebrity basketball All-Star Game star, but that's hardly relevant here.
