Everyone loves to talk about the Bugatti Chiron, or the Koenigsegg Jesko, and for good reason; they're some of the fastest cars in the world.
But what about the slowest?
Even cars we consider "slow," are typically capable of driving highway speeds and even cracking triple digits. But that's not always the case.
Here are 10 cars that are plain and simply too slow for their own good.

1. Peel P50
Most famously featured on an episode of “Top Gear” in which Jeremy Clarkson drives one around the BBC offices, this three-wheeler is listed as the world’s smallest production car, and tops out around 28 mph. -
2. Chevy CMV
This Chevy might seat seven and sport some decent cargo room, but it also inexplicably features a 37 horsepower engine that takes 27 seconds to get you to 60 mph. (And that number heavily depends on the weight of your cargo.) -
3. Aixam Coupe
It might look like a Smart Car, but that’s where the comparisons end. While the Smart Car is mostly a capable vehicle, the Aixam Coupe is marketed as a license-free vehicle, and thus tops out at a blistering 28 mph. It also lacks airbags, and costs over ten grand. Just why? -
4. Mitsubishi Mirage
Although there are slower cars in the world, I thought it important to include a fully modern, and fully normal car on this list. The Mitsubishi Mirage is currently the cheapest car you can buy brand new in the United States, but only sports a 78 horsepower engine. Many reviewers claim that its abysmal acceleration is actually dangerous for highway driving. -
5. Renault Twizy
Classified as a quadricycle, (which is a cross between a car and a motorcycle), this electric vehicle is great for navigating college campuses, but awful for the highway. You’ll be lucky to hit 40 mph, and doing so will significantly decrease your range. -
6. Fiat Qubo
Despite the company’s past relationship with Ferrari, don’t expect much speed out of this model. The Qubo is one of Europe’s slowest cars, and takes over 17 seconds to reach 60 mph. -
7. Tata Nano
The Tata Nano looks and performs exactly like its name sounds. As one of the cheapest cars you can buy in the world, a new one still costs around $3,000. That money will barely get you to 60 mph in under 30 seconds. -
8. Smart Fortwo CDI
The Smart car might have a dedicated following, but take it off of city streets, and its lack of power quickly shows. With only 40 horsepower, even its light weight can’t improve a 0-60 time of 23 seconds, and a top speed barely over 80 mph. However, newer versions bump those figures up a decent amount. -
9. Reliant Robin
No list of pathetic cars is complete without this putrid three-wheeler. Rightly memed for its infamous instability, the Reliant Robin will unreliably reach 60 mph in 14 seconds, and a top speed of 85 mph. But if you drive it that fast you better be going straight. -
10. BMW M3
Oh, this car IS fast you say? You’ll show me when you get it back from the shop? You’ll show me after they un-suspend your license? You’ll show me when the detailers are done with it? I can’t wait to be proven wrong.
