We're Going to the Station: 20 Ways Cops Use Subtle Signs To Determine You're Guilty

Nobody likes talking to police, and it can be easy to psych yourself into feeling guilty when around them. Just like the TSA makes you wonder if there are explosives in your bag, and lie detector tests make your heart beat through your chest, cops can bring out a jittery nervousness in us that make everything feel suspicious. So how do cops tell if we're just nervous or actually hiding something? On AskReddit, these people gave their thoughts.

Ironically, following the law too well was the undoing for one car. While looking out for speeders, one cop recounted seeing a car go by him at exactly the speed limit, with no occupants turning their heads to look at him. "That was suspicious, because everyone speeds on that road. So they must have been doing something wrong if they weren’t speeding," he said. After pulling them over he noticed that the car had expired plates, and things went downhill for the occupants from there. Who knew that following the law too well could get you in trouble?

While it's true that sometimes nothing can stop a bad interaction with a cop, these tips might just help prevent one a little bit.
