Cars Narrowly Escape Rising Tides in Last-Ditch Hurricane Helene Evacuation Effort

Florida Men, they're just like us — and by just like us, I mean that they, too, aren't afraid to leave important things to the last minute. In a now-viral clip, a few brave Floridians can be seen wading through the flooded Howard Frankland Bridge connecting Tampa and St. Petersburg in a likely last-ditch effort to evacuate before Hurricane Helene's landfall.

"This is incredible," Paul Dellegatto, the chief meteorologist at FOX 13 Tampa Bay captioned his upload of the harrowing clip. "Imagine being one of the last to cross the Howard Frankland Bridge before they closed it this afternoon."

While it's unclear how these cars survived the lapping floodwaters, one thing is certain: That is gonna be a fun trip to the mechanic.
