Cities have been trying to figure out what to do about homelessness for a long time, without much success. But recently, instead of trying to actually help the unhoused, cities have resorted to installing "hostile designs" to discourage them from sleeping or generally hanging out.
Except, when you make an intentionally poor design for the homeless, you're really just inconveniencing everybody. Here are 27 examples of horrible hostile design from @hostiledesign that just make it harder for everybody.
